Food is good, staff is sometimes rude. Parking is an issue during busy times.

My favorite restaurant to visit everytime I'm in New Orleans but unfortunately the service is hit or miss. Sometimes I expected great, fast service and other times I had to constantly ask for a refill of water.

I've been enjoying this place since the 80's. First, I ordered take out and had it delivered by cab. It wasn't until the 90's that I actually visited this wonderful place. It was tiny and there was a line out the door of take out customers and people waiting for a prized table. Since that time, they expanded into the space next door. This gave them an additional dining room. YaY!The service is still exceptional as well as the food. They will even happily adjust a dish. I don't like mushrooms, so they prepare my order without them. Unfortunately, Katrina forced them to close for a while. I'm happy to say they reopened. The food may even be better!!

The Chinese Kitchen has giant egg rolls and great boneless chicken. The menu is a basic Chinese menu with reasonable prices and large portions. The service is no nonsense and meant to be as efficient as possible so don't get your feelings hurt if the staff is short with you and does not want to chat. The line may look long but it moves very fast and the food is always hot and fresh.

I usually order shrimp egg foo young at any Chinese Restaurant I visit and that's what I ordered at this particular location. I was not disappointed... they actually made the egg foo young with bean sprouts and I absolutely love them but the cost was about 14.30 and I believe I received about 6 patties. The food was cooked perfectly. The eggs weren't over/ undercooked. The entire time waiting on my order which didn't take them long to prepare but foot traffic, sit-in customers and the ones were consistently revolving. Apparently, other dishes were popular as well. The employees were pleasant to me and the company that was with me to include their orders as well. I enjoyed my first time experience and when I visit the area again, I'd return!
